Exclusive starts sales at EFM for Robot & Frank, Quiet Ones

Exclusive Media has acquired all taken international rights in all media to Jake Schreier’s Sundance hit Robot & Frank.

Frank Langella stars as a retired jewel thief who gets a caretaker robot.

The Park Pictures Features production has been acquired by Exclusive Media for territories including Germany, France, Japan, Benelux, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Switzerland, Greece, Iceland, Portugal, Turkey, Israel, Middle East, China, Hong Kong, India and Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.

Exclusive Media, President of International Sales and Distribution, Alex Walton negotiated the deal with the filmmakers.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has rights in Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, Russia as previously announced and Momentum Pictures has acquired UK and Ireland.  SPWA and Samuel Goldwyn Films jointly acquired North America.

The film will screen at EFM on Sunday and Monday.

Walton said: “Beyond the amazing performances this is a film that completely connects with its audience.  It’s the ultimate crowd pleaser with a huge word of mouth following already.  It started at a blustery Sundance but is snowballing from there to Paris, Rome, Berlin and beyond.”

Also, Exclusive will start sales here at EFM on The Quiet Ones, the next production from Exclusive sister company Hammer Films.

Hammer’s latest production was current US box-office hit The Woman In Black.

John Pogue (Quarantine 2) will write and direct and James Gay-Rees (Senna) will produce. Inspired by true events, the story is about a professor encouraging his students to create a poltergeist.

Exclusive Media’s President of Worldwide Production & Acquisitions, Tobin Armbrust, will oversee production alongside Director of Development, Shira Rockowitz. Nancy Nayor has started casting on the film, which will start shooting in May in South Africa.
