The Abu Dhabi Film Festival is becoming part of media group twofour54. The festival team will now work out of twofour54’s Khalifa Park campus.
The sixth ADFF will run Oct 11-20, with entries opening April 1. More plans for this year’s festival will be announced in Cannes.
The festival was established in 2007 by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage.
The Abu Dhabi Film Commission had moved under twofour54 in 2011.
Wayne Borg [pictured], Deputy CEO and Chief Operating Officer at twofour54 said: “By moving the Film Festival to twofour54 we can ensure all events and activities are aligned under a single vision – to position Abu Dhabi as a creative hub for the region supporting film production. Through these combined efforts we will be able to better harness opportunities for talent development and facilitating film projects.”
Peter Scarlet, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, added: “The Film Festival’s move to twofour54 is a natural progression in our continuing efforts to build film literacy and culture in Abu Dhabi and the region reaching out to emerging and established filmmakers.”
