Organisation which celebrates international women filmmakers to hold Gala day in March before a week-long Celebration of Arab Women Filmmakers in April.
Birds Eye View (BEV), the UK’s leading organisation celebrating and supporting international women filmmakers, will return next year.
BEV will host its annual International Women’s Day Gala on March 8, before a week-long Celebration of Arab Women Filmmakers which will take place from April 3-10. Both events will be held at the BFI Southbank in London.
Founder-director Rachel Millward [pictured] commented: “I’m thrilled that in 2013 Birds Eye View will celebrate the work of Arab women filmmakers. At a time when Arab women are dominating the headlines at the world’s most established film festivals, this is the perfect time to shine a light on this increasingly important and diverse range of cinematic voices.”
BEV’s full-scale international festival is set to re-launch in 2014, with further plans to be announced.
