The Film Festival Guild has announced the winners of this year’s British Independent Film Festival, held at the Empire cinema on London’s Leicester Square from May 3-4.
Maurice Sweeney’s Saving the Titanic and Stefan Georgiou’s Dead Cat both scooped a hat trick.
Saving the Titanic won best feature film, best director for Sweeney and best supporting actor for Ciaran McMenamin, while Dead Cat took home the British Lion award, best actress for Sophia Dawnay and best music.
Mark Jackson & Simon Kassianides’ Geezas won best actor for Mark Jackson and best supporting actress for Myia Ingoldsby.
Four features and 12 short films screened over the weekend, with showings of the selected films still taking place across the country throughout May. Full details on screenings are available here.
