The director of the Berlin Film Festival will receive the festival’s Honorary Heart of Sarajevo award.
The Sarajevo Film Festival has announced that it is to award Dieter Kosslick, director of the Berlin International Film Festival with its Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award 2010. Past recipients include Venice Film Festival director Marco Mueller, UK director Mike Leigh and US actor/director Steve Buscemi.
The award is in particular recognition of Kosslick’s support of the Sarajevo Talent Campus, which was launched in 2007 in cooperation with the Berlin Film Festival and its own talent campus.
64 particpants will take part in this year’s Talent Campus programme, whichis designed to connect young film-makers from Southeast Eerope with established professionals, and incldues a series of workshops, discussions and screenings.Previous lecturers include Jeremy Irons, Kevin Spacey and Steve Buscemi.
The theme of this year’s programme will be “Storytelling – From Your Backyard to the World”.
