The Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) has planned 13 special industry talks at this year’s festival.
The events include a conversation with Robert De Niro, a case study of the making of The Reluctant Fundamentalist with Mira Nair [pictured], programmes about transmedia, Khaleeji films, crossover potential from Bollywood films, socially conscious films, young people’s creative potential, and extended Q&As for Michael Singh’s Valentino’s Ghost and Rambod Javan’s No Entry For Men.
The festival will also host a masterclass with James Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
The planned events will feature more than 45 industry professionals, both local and international.
The Doha Projects programme will help 40 Doha Film Institute fundees to meet experts through one-on-one meetings and other sessions about distribution globally, investment strategies.
Doha Projects oversees DFI grantees’ and their access to mentoring across all spectrums of the film industry, nurturing regional filmmakers and maximising their full potential to realise their DFI-funded projects.
Also, Doha will host the MENA premiere of Ben Affleck’s Argo on Nov 21.
DTFF runs Nov 17-24.
