As part of their partnership with the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), European Film Promotion (EFP) will introduce 19 European directors and their newest films on the first weekend of this year’s festival, which runs Oct 4-13.
Among the 19 films, there are five which are competing for the Flash Forward Award for first and second time non-Asian filmmakers, including Antej Farac’s Annelie and Zdenek Jirasky’s Flower Buds. Outside of this competition, the EFP will also introduce Toronto and LFF entry Blancanieves [pictured] by Pablo Berger and Hanna Doose’s feature debut Dust On Our Hearts, among others.
A total of 87 European films out of a total of 304 films from 75 countries are screening at BIFF.
EFP will gather sales agents under a European umbrella booth located at the Asian Film Market which runs during BIFF from Oct 8-11 at Busan’s Exhibiton Convention Centre. 25 companies have already registered with EFP, with the attending European sales agents able to take advantage of EFP’s Film Sales Support for market campaigns to Asian buyers.
