The first IDFA PLAY award for best music documentary has been awarded to Last Days Here by Don Argott and Demian Fenton.
The American documentary is about Bobby Liebling, the crack-addicted frontman of hard-rock band Pentagram.
The prize comes with €2,500.
The other nominees for the award had been Kyteman. Now What? (The Netherlands) by Menna Laura Meijer; and When the Drum is Beating (US) by Whitney Dow.
The jury was comprised of Miriam Leah Brenner, Lotje IJzermans, Rodrigo Letier, James Mottram and Zjakki Willems.
PLAY, the International Music+Film Festival, will close tomorrow. The films from the IDFA PLAY Competition for Music Documentary will be screened over the coming week at IDFA, which runs through Nov 27.
