Drug War (Duzhan) by Johnnie To has been revealed as the second surprise film completing the roster for the Rome Film Festival’s 2012 Competition.

The seventh edition of the festival kicked off Nov 9 and runs through Nov 17.

Drug War, set in mainland china, is about gangsters involved in drug trafficking who are pursued by the police. The cast features Louis Koo, Sun Honglei, Xiao Cong, Yin Zhusheng, Gao Yunxiang, Huang Yi and Wallace Chung.

It is the second surprise film - both Chinese - for Rome this year, after the previously reported Back to 1942 by Feng Xiaogang.
