Fourth edition of the co-production market ran March 19-22.
Sunny Side of the Doc, Bang Singapore, Ministry of Information Communication & Culture of Malaysia and Finas have unveiled the winners of the fourth Asian Side of the Doc, which ran in Kuala Lumpur from March 19-22.
Among the winners was the UK’s Love is not a Crime (Babel Press, Thomas Ellis) which scooped the best international pitch, while the best Asian pitch went to China’s Please Remember Me (Shape Pictures, Zhao Qing).
This year’s fourth edition of the coproduction market welcomed 510 participants, coming from 43 different countries with 13 new countries attending, including Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and the UAE.
The international jury was made up of Charlotte Gry Madsen (DR TV, Denmark), Ann Julienne (France Télévisions, France), Paul Lewis (Discovery Channel, Canada), Joseph Maxwell (SBS TV, Australia), Choy Lin Mok (Mediacorp Pte Ltd, Singapore), Sakura Ono (NHK, Japan), Prof. Dr. Asiah Sarji (Finas, Malaysia) and Ganesan Sudheer (AETN 18, India).
