European premieres include Japanese film Karate Girl .
The third annual Terracotta Far East Film Festival, the UK’s top Asian film festival, has confirmed its 14-film programme for this year’s event, to be staged May 5-8 at the Prince Charles Cinema in London.
European premieres include Japanese film Karate Girl starring teenage karate champion Rina Takeda (and star of High Kick Girl!) and Chinese film Lost Bladesman, starring Donnie Yen (Ip Man) and directed by Alan Mak and Felix Chong (Infernal Affairs).
UK premieres include South Korean film Petty Romance starring Lee Sun-kyun (Oki’s Movie) and directed by Kim Joung-hoon and Hong Kong film Revenge: A Love Story starring and written by Juno Mak and directed Wong Ching Po.
This year’s guests confirmed already includes Rina Takeda, Clement Cheng and Tak Sakaguchi,
Terracotta Festival has also confirmed a tie up with the genre festival Sci-fi London, an established festival of sci-fi, manga, anime and genre films, with Terracotta presenting a premiere of live-action Japanese manga hit Gantz at Sci-fi London in April, and to reciprocate, Sci-fi London will present Tak Sakaguchi’s Japanese film Yakuza Weapon at Terracotta Festival in May.
