The 7th Zurich Film Festival will honour Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu with its career achievement award at during the 2011 festival (Sept 22-Oct 2).

He will be on hand in Zurich to receive the Golden Eye Award for his achievements as director, writer and producer. And he will also give a masterclass on Sept 30.

ZFF Directors Karl Spoerri and Nadja Schildknecht also announced plans to screen four of his films: Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel, and September 11.

As previously reported, the festival will give its Golden Icon Award this year to Sean Penn. Laurence Fishburne, who leads the jury, will receive a lifetime achievement award.
