The seventh Zurich Film Festival (Sept 22-Oct 2) will open with Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion.
Laurence Fishburne, one of the stars of Contagion, will preside over the jury for ZZ’f international section, and the festival will also honour him with a special achievement award.
The other jurors on the international narrative feature jury will be: US producer John Lesher, EFM director Beki Probst, Danish actress/director Paprika Steen, UK actress Alice Eve, and Serbian writer/director Stevan Arsenijevic.
In other juries, the international documentary jury will be comprised of American director/producer Charles Ferguson, UK producer John Battsek, Georgian writer/director Nino Kirtadze, Dutch director/producer Eline Flipse, and US producer Stephen Nemeth.
Contagion, an action thriller about a deadly disease outbreak, also stars Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law.
ZFF will also honour Sean Penn this year with its Golden Icon Award.
