Film Movement has picked up US rights to Hans-Christian Schmid’s German-Danish-Dutch political thriller Storm from TrustNordisk.
The 2009 Berlin Golden Bear nominee will open in theatres in late autumn and roll out on VOD across the nation.
Storm stars Kerry Fox as a war crimes prosecutor who defies death threats to persuade a witness in Sarajevo to testify in the trial of a former Yugoslavian military commander.
Anamaria Marinca from 4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days and Five Minutes Of Heaven also stars. Film Movement president Adley Gartenstein negotiated the deal with Susan Wendt of TrustNordisk.
The film was primarily shot in English with German, Bosnian and Serbian portions. It won the 2009 Berlinale’s Amnesty International Film Prize, Prize Of The Guild Of German Art House Cinemas, and Reader Jury Of The Berliner Morgenpost awards.
