Andrew Herwitz’s Film Sales Company has taken on worldwide sales rights to Landon van Soest and Jeremy Levine’s documentary Good Fortune.
The film will receive its international premiere next month at IDFA in Amsterdam and explores the unintended effects of well-intentioned multinational efforts to relieve poverty in Africa.
Van Soest and Levine follow three characters over a long period of time to chart their stories before and after these massive relief efforts.
Good Fortune received a Fledgling Fund grant at The IFP market as well as support from the Sundance Institute.
Other IDFA official selections on the Film Sales Company slate are: The Horseboy (aka Over The Hills And Faraway) and Stolen, which premiered in Toronto.
Herwitz will also offer the following in the Docs For Sale market: Joan Baez: How Sweet It Is, The Windmill Movie, and The Sunshine Boy.
