Spanish studio Filmax has picked up international sales rights to Oskar Santos’ hotly anticipated debut feature, El Mal Ajeno.
The film, which is produced by director Alejandro Amenabar, will have its world premiere in the Panorama section at next month’s Berlin Film Festival, where Filmax will begin sales. Alta Films has already taken the Spanish theatrical rights.
El Amal Ajeno stars Eduardo Noriega as a doctor whose life is transformed after this is the victim of a shooting.
Amenabar’s company Himenoptero is producing, alongside Mod Producciones and Spanish broadcaster Telecinco, all of whom worked together on Amenabar’s big hit Agora.
Meanwhile, Latido Films has taken international sales rights to Jonas Trueba’s $4m feature debut All Love Stories Speak Of Us. The romantic comedy is about a couple who separate but can not get away from each other. It stars Oriol Villa, Barbara Lennie and Eloy Azorin.
Currently in post-production, the film is being produced by Tornasol Films and Castafiore Films.
