Thefilm Industry Training Boardwill administer the mandatory levy on behalf of the film industry.
An Order to establish a board was submitted to Parliament in November 2007, and in line with parliamentary procedures a debate was not called for.
This was required to 'sit' in Parliament for 40 days, and upon completion of these 40 days, an advertisement to recruit a Chair for the Film ITB was advertised in the National Press on 9th January.
An appointment has not yet been made, but it is anticipated one will be
made within the month.
The Chair will be a producer in the film industry who would be in scope to pay the levy themselves.
The next step will be to appoint a Board of members to oversee the
delivery and operation of the mandatory levy, and this Board will be
made up of industry representatives.
