Lee's last film, Secret Sunshine,wonthe best actress award for Jeon Do-hyun in Cannes last year.
Poetry will be about a woman in her mid-sixties who lives with her 15-year-old grandson in poverty and loneliness. She endeavors to compose a poem for the very first time in her life to protect her grandson, who is her only love and consolation, from his own misconduct.
Lee is still working on the script, with plans to start shooting at the end of the year. His production company Pine House Film is producing, with UniKorea (Woman Is The Future Of Man, Oasis) handling the financing.
At the upcoming Toronto film festival Fine Cut will be representing young Korean director Noh Young-seok's debut feature Daytime Drinking - which was awarded at the recent Locarno film festival and will be in the Discovery section at Toronto; and, in the Contemporary World Cinema section, Argentine director Pablo Trapero's Lion's Den which premiered in Cannes competition earlier this year.
