Korean sales agent FineCut has sold the recent Rotterdam Tiger Award co-winner The Journals Of Musan to Star Sands for Japan and S.N.R.T. for Morroco TV.
Local box office hit Hello Ghost, starring Cha Tae-hyun pre-sold to Catchplay for Taiwan. CJ CGV Holdings is releasing the film in US theatres this month.
Finecut has also sold Lee Chang-dong’s Cannes competition film Poetry from last year to Arrow Films for UK, Arthaus for Norway and Luna Films for Singapore. Kino Lorber is releasing the film in the US Feb 11.
Argentinian director Pablo Trapero’s Carancho sold to MPA for Portugal, Xenix for Switzerland and J-Bics for Thailand. Daytime Drinking sold to Inclusionism for UK and A Brand New Life went to Fidalgo for Norway.
In the Berlinale shorts competition, FineCut has the iPhone film Night Fishing, co-directed by Park Chan-wook and his brother Chan-kyong under their directing name PARKing CHANce.
