Screen is exclusively unveiling the first trailer for The Stag, an Irish comedy starring Andrew Scott (Sherlock) that will have its world premiere in Toronto’s Discovery section.

The Stag follows the story of a very modern groom-to-be who reluctantly agrees to a stag weekend of wild camping in the great outdoors of the west of Ireland with his very urbane friends.

To their horror they are joined by the bride’s unpredictable brother, an alpha male known simply as The Machine, whose explosive personality and wild leadership takes them on a journey they will never forget.

As the trailer shows, the journey includes dodgy jumpers, drug exploits, electrocuted fences, masturbation and a little move called ‘The Emperor Penguin’.

As Screen also reported today, the film has been sold to the UK ahead of its Toronto premiere.
