Thailand’s Five Star Production has sold horror film Long Weekend (Thongsook 13) to Eurofilms for Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.
The Wave Entertainment production, directed by Taweewat Wantha, is currently on release in Malaysia where it held its own against Iron Man 3 in its second weekend and has so far grossed an impressive $500,000. It has also grossed $300,000 in Singapore. Clover Films is handling distribution in Singapore and Malaysia.
Five Star has also pre-sold sequel 3AM Part 2 to Taiwan (Deepjoy), Hong Kong (Passion Entertainment) Cambodia, Vietnam and Burma (Soundspace) and Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei (Clover Films).
The 3D horror comprises three short ghost stories directed by Putipong Saisrikaew (Art Of The Devil 2&3), Kirati Nakintanon (First Kiss) and Issara Nadee (Dark Flight). Five Star is also introducing 3D horrors Ghost Coins, directed by Pawat Panangkasiri, and The Second Sight, directed by Pornchai Hongrattanaporn.
