Robert Kenner's food industry expose, Food, Inc. which saw its international premiere at Toronto, was picked up by Svensk Filmindustri for Scandinavia, United King Film Distribution for Israel, CMC Entertainment for Taiwan, Deltamac Co. for Hong Kong, Film Depot for Russia and HBO for Latin American Pay TV.
Fortissimo co-chair Michael J. Werner commented, 'We have had an extremely positive few months since Toronto, with strong sales and several films collecting awards, including Disgrace winning the Black Pearl Award for best picture at the Middle East International Film Festival. We look forward to continuing success at the AFM and beyond.'
Other sales include Rashid Masharawi's Laila's Birthday, which went to Amstel Films for Benelux and Barton for Spain, Nati Baratz's Unmistaken Child which went to Cinemien for Benelux, Enrique Rivero's Parque Via went to Wanda for Spain, Guka Omarova's Native Dancer which went to United King for Israel. Every Little Step and the John Malkovich-starrer Disgrace were picked up by HBO for Latin American Pay TV.
