Fortissimo Films has closed a three-picture deal with Kinowelt Filmverleih consisting of Martin Scorsese's untitled Rolling Stones documentary, Christopher Guest's comedy For Your Consideration and Marion Hansel's Africa-set drama Sounds Of Sand.

The deal was brokered by Kinowelt's founder and chief Rainer Kolmel and Fortissimo executive vice president, international sales, Nicole Mackey.

Kinowelt joins a long list of buyers for the Stones documentary (pictured) which is currently being edited by David Tedeschi (No Direction Home: Bob Dylan).

Fox bought the film for the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Bim for Italy, Wild Bunch for France and Tohokushinsha for Japan. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film in the US later this year.

'Germany is continually emerging as an extremely strong market for Fortissimo,' said Mackey.

'We're delighted to continue our relationship with Kinowelt who acquired last year's Berlinale opener Snow Cake from us.'

'We are happy to continue our very successful collaboration with Fortissimo,' Rainer Kolmel.

'It is exciting to bring another Scorsese project to our markets as well as two films that will prove to be very strong contenders in the expanding arthouse market.'

Like the Stones doc, For Your Consideration was backed by Shangri-La Entertainment. The movie opened late last year in North America through Warner independent Pictures and grossed over $5.5m.
