France 's film center the CNC has announced the creation of a new fund designed to aid in the development of experimental projects for new media.
Submissions are currently being solicited from French and European Union nationals and residents and/or French production companies. The projects must be destined for at least three new media platforms including mobile phones, Internet, video games (console, computer, on-line games), cinema, television and must be in the French language.
The aid will be given out as a subsidy and is principally earmarked to foster the writing process. Aid will not exceed 50% of a project's budget and is capped at $95,188 (Euros 70,000).
As with much of the aid that comes from the CNC, decisions will be made by committee and based on originality and innovation in several areas. The deadline for current submissions is October 15.
