Belgian auteur Felix van Groeningen’s new feature Belgica is also among the projects to receive support from the VAF.
The Faithful, the new gangster thriller from Bullhead director Michaël R. Roskam [pictured], is to receive script support from the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF), it was confirmed this week.
The producer of this 80s-set gangster drama is Bart Van Langendonck for Savage.
Belgian auteur Felix van Groeningen’s new feature Belgica is also to receive support from the VAF. The film, about the intense relationship between two brothers running a bar, is produced through Menuet. It is van Groeningen’s follow up to Panorama Special title The Broken Circle Breakdown (sold by The Match Factory).
Other projects that will receive production support from the Fund are Lucifer by Gust van den Berghe (director of Little Baby Jesus of Flanders and Blue Bird) produced by Minds Meet; Marry Me by Kadir Balci, produced by A Private View; and Welp by Jonas Govaerts (prod: Potemkino).
Meanwhile, receiving VAF development money is D’Ardennen, by Robin Pront (Savage Film), Derby by Lenny Van Wesemael (Menuet), The Teacher by Dimitri Karakatsanis (Caviar) and My First Highway by Kevin Meul (Czar TV).
Script support finally also goes to The Tigra Girl (scripted by Moscow, Belgium star Barbara Sarafian); Behind The Clouds (scripted by Michael De Cock); Ana Marinescu (scripted by Teodora Mihai and Jean-Claude Van Rijckeghem); Graceland (scripted by Gert Embrechts) It has to Remain Funny (scripted by Nic Balthazar); Remi Het Boskind (scripted by Meikeminne Clinckspoor); Tony and Jesus (scripted by Roel Mondelaers and Vanja D’Alcantara); and Six (scripted by Koen Sonck).
