Since its founding in 2001, the “mini-traité” has been financed by the FFA and CNC with €1.5m annually, backing more than 90 Franco-German co-productions.

An agreement has been reached by Germany’s State Minister for Culture and Media Bernd Neumann with his French opposite number Aurélie Filippetti to extending the Franco-German “mini-traité” co-production accord.

Since its founding in 2001, the “mini-traité” has been financed by the FFA and CNC with €1.5m each year and backed over 90 Franco-German co-productions, including Guillaume Nicloux’s The Nun [pictured] which had its world premiere in Competition on Sunday (Feb 10).

Last year, 11 co-productions were supported – six German majority and four French majority, and one 50-50 production – including Christophe Gans’ Studio Babelsberg co-production The Beauty and the Beast, Xavier Gens’ Herz der Hölle, and X Filme Creative Pool’s Heart & Soul by Diane Bertrand.
