Scotland’s new Centre for the Moving Image has appointed Gavin Miller as CEO and Graham Wallace as COO.
The appointments were announced by CMI board chair Leslie Hills.
The new Centre for the Moving Image will serve as the parent body of the Edinburgh International Film Festival and Edinburgh Filmhouse. Its activities will include curating, research and education for the industry and public in Scotland and the UK.
Miller was a former commercial director at BBC Worldwide and also is a veteran of Universal Pictures, Capital Radio Group and Film Tree.
He said: “This is an exciting opportunity to build on the brands of Filmhouse and Edinburgh International Film Festival and bringing together the broader aspects of the moving image.”
Graham Wallace is a Chartered Accountant who has worked with companies including Spider Systems and Millar McCowan.
Hills added: “The concept of the CMI has been developed over some time, taking into account the ambitions of EIFF and Filmhouse, the City of Edinburgh’s Moving Image Strategy and the establishment of Creative Scotland. Scotland and the UK need a Centre for the Moving Image which will be a powerhouse of ideas and activity. We are delighted to be at its birth.”
Hannah McGill remains as Artistic Director for EIFF and Rod White Head of Programming for Filmhouse.
