Munich-based German distributor SquareOne Entertainment has announced new additions to its 2008 and 2009 release slate.
SquareOne President Al Munteanu revealed that the company's latest acquisitions include Jeffrey Nachmanoff's action thriller Traitor starring Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce and Jeff Daniels, set for a fourth-quarter 2008 release.
For 2009 releases, SquareOne has added Jieho Lee's The Air I Breathe; Michael Cuesta's sci-fi thriller Tell-Tale; Martha Fiennes' Blown; James Watkins' horror Eden Lake; Barry Levinson's actioner The Saint; Olatunde Osunsanmi's thriller The 4th Kind; and Jon Harris' The Descent 2.
The company's next release is Bryan Bertino's US hit thriller The Strangers starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman.
The company also noted that its recent growth has led to a restructuring, including soon-to-be-announced plans of more executive producing activity and changes in its acquistions department.
Munteanu has appointed ProSiebanSAT1 veteran Stefan Litka as SquareOne's new CFO
Munteanu said: 'We are moving fast but are by no means complacent with where we are as a company. With growth, comes change. We will be adding and changing staff to manage the increased activity across the board. Having our new CFO in place is the first step. Stefan is a seasoned executive and will be instrumental in managing all growth initiatives.'
