Herbert Kloiber’s Tele München Group (TMG) acquired the German rights to new films by Robert Redford, Terry Gilliam and John Carpenter at this year’s European Film Marketduring the Berlinale.
TMG beat off rival bids to clinch the rights to Redford’s new political thriller The Company You Keep and Terry Gilliam’s Zero Theorem with Billy Bob Thornton, both from Voltage, and John Carpenter’s long awaited comeback The Ward, starring Amber Heard, from Film Nation.
In addition, the Munich-based independent picked up Hany Abu Assad’s English-language debut Eleven Minutes, based on the bestseller by Paulo Coelho.
TMG’s subsidiaries Concorde Filmverleih and Concorde Entertainment will handle the theatrical and DVD releases respectively, while Tele München will exploit the free TV, pay TV and VOD rights to these new top titles.
