Carl Colapert's Iraq Wardrama GI Jesus was awarded the2006 Cinevegas Film Festival's Grand Jury prize as the event wound down at theweekend.

Kurt Voelker's Park received The Audience Award. It follows a group ofLos Angelinos who experience dramatic changes on a seemingly quiet and sunnyday in a secluded park.Billy Baldwin, Ricki Lake and Cheri Oteri star.

The special award forcinematography went to Steven Kessler's spiritful drama 5 Up 2 Down, while the shorts jury voted K-7 the best in show.

Cinevegas ran from Jun 9-17.As previously reported, the festival presented special awards to Helen Mirren,Taylor Hackford, Laurence Fishburne, Christina Ricci and Sylvester Stallone.
