The Girl Who Played With Fire (Flickan Som Lekte Med Elden), the second film adaptation from Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy, opened strongly in Scandinavia reaching 474,000 admissions.
It beat the opening weeked for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (aka Men Who Hate Women/Män Som Hatar Kvinnor), which has been a major success across Europe this year. It clocked up 175,000 films in its opening weekeldn.
The second film was launched by Nordisk Film Distribution on 183 screens in Sweden, 124 in Denmark, 114 in Norway and 41 in Finland.
The third film in the series, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest (Luftslottet som sprängdes) opens on November 27.
