Austrian director Michael Glawogger’s latest feature film Contact High will receive its market premiere through The Match Factory at Cannes this week.
The film, a psychedelic road movie comedy, is a Austrian-German-Polish-Luxembourg co-production between Lotus Film, Boje Buck Produktion, Ozumi Films and Iris Productions.
It reunites Glawogger with actor Michael Ostrowski, the co-author of his 2004 film Slugs (Nacktschnecken), and the cast from that film including Detlev Buck, Georg Friedrich and Pia Hierzegger.
Contact High will be theatrically released in Germany by Delphi Filmverleih on June 18.
The Match Factory will also be presenting a promo reel of upcoming titles including Faith Akin’s comedy Soul Kitchen; Andreas Dresen’s Whisky With Vodka, starring Henry Hübchen and Corinna Harfouch; and Sherry Hormann’s Desert Flower, based on the bestselling autobiography by Waris Dirie. Other titles include visual artist Pipilotti Rist’s feature debut Pepperminta; Benedek Fliegauf’s English-language debut Womb, with Eva Green and Matt Smith; and Czech director Tomas Lunak’s adaptation of the 2003 graphic novel Alois Nebel.
Market screenings have also been booked for Claudia Llosa’s Golden Bear winner The Milk Of Sorrow, Adrian Biniez’s award-winning Gigante, Theo Angelopoulos’ The Dust Of Time, the omnibus film Germany09, and Lars Jessen’s coming of age tale Dorfpunks.
