Goldcrest Films International has sold Cheerful Weather For The Wedding to Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE), the international home entertainment division of Universal Pictures, for a number of territories including the UK and Germany. Universal plans a cinema release later this year.
The film had its world premiere at Tribeca.
Donald Rice makes his feature directorial debut with the story about a young bride-to-be in 1932 whose feelings are thrown into turmoil when a past lover shows up at the family estate on her wedding day. Felicity Jones, Luke Treadaway and Elizabeth McGovern lead the cast.
Teun Hilte (Black Book) produced.
