East London cinema to open October 28 and will host pop up shorts event.
City Screen’s Hackney Picturehouse will open its doors to the public on Oct 28.
The Ocean building on Mare Street in Hackney has been re-developed to create four state-of-the-art auditauria equipped with digital, 3D and satellite technology.
The new venue contains three bars, free Wi-Fi hotspots and six small offices at the top of the building available for six-month lets.
The venue’s Hackney Attic bar will host a range of live music and comedy nights. The new location will also host Future Shorts, the global pop-up short film festival.
Opening films from Oct 28 include The Help, Tintin 3D, The Ides of March and We Need To Talk About Kevin.
