Richard Rionda Del Castro’s rebranded Hannibal Classics and Freedom Films’ Brian Presley have announced a $55m fund and arrives at AFM with the first three features.

The AFM slate centres on Touchback, which is billed as an inspirational family feature, as well the adventure Race To Save Nome and the action racing film Daytona.

Hannibal Classics will handle international sales and will finance the slate with Freedom through a combination of equity raised through the Palo Verde hedge fund, tax subsidies and pre-sales and gap financing.

Hannibal Classics will premiere a trailer for Touchback starring Presley and Kurt Russell at the market. Presley, Lisa Kearns, Carissa Buffel and Kevin Matusow are producing for Freedom Films, with Del Castro and Patricia Eberle of Hannibal Classics serving as executive producers alongside Randall Emmett.

Del Castro produced the recently completed The Big Bang starring Antonio Banderas, Thomas Kretschmann, William Fichtner, and Sam Elliott. The film will receive its market premiere screening.
