HanWay Films is handling international sales for Snoot Entertainment’s new thriller You’re Next.
Adam Wingard [pictured] directs from Simon Barrett’s screenplay about a home invasion.
Snoot’s Keith Calder and Jessica Wu produce alongside Barrett.
The film will start shooting this spring in Missouri.
Calder said, “Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard are the perfect team to inject some much-needed fun and energy into the home invasion genre with You’re Next, and we’re delighted to introduce these talented young filmmakers to the international film community with HanWay.”
Tim Haslam, CEO of HanWay, added, “Adam and Simon are naturals for this genre. The pulse of film is totally fresh, unexpected and entertaining. Keith and Jessica at Snoot consistently produce stand out independent films with strong identities and marketing hooks.”
The plot follows a family reunion getaway under attack from a group of murderers; one of the family son’s girlfriend has a secret that makes her difficult to kill.
Wingard (repped by Paradigm) and Barrett previously worked together on A Horrible Way To Die, which screened in Toronto.
HanWay is introducing the project to buyers here at the EFM. HanWay’s slate also includes David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method, Wim Wenders’ Pina, Kevin Macdonald’s Life In A Day, and Michael Fassbender’s Shame.
Snoot’s recent projects also include Morgan Spurlock’s The Greatest Movie Ever Sold.
