The Birds Eye View Film Festival names winners as this year’s event draws to a close.
Jessica Hausner’s Lourdes has been named best feature at London’s Birds Eye View Film Festival, which closed in tonight (March 12).
The best documentary award went to Jenna Rosher’s Junior, while the joint winners of the best short film award were Juanita Wilson’s The Door and Hanna Heilborn and David Aronowitsch’s Slaves.
The winners of the 6th annual Birds Eye View Film Festival, which celebrates female film-makers, were announced at the British Film Institute in London by actresses Bonnie Wright, Sally Hawkins and Patricia Hodge.
The jury was made up of City Screen programming director Clare Binns, BBC Films’ Christine Langan, arts correspondent Louise Jury, and film critic Jonathan Romney.
Amy Mole, managing director of Birds Eye View, said: “This has been a brilliant year for women film-makers not least with Kathryn Bigelow’s historical win at the Oscars which has really helped focus the international spotlight on the lack of women film-makers within the industry.”
