Film is French/Israeli/Turkish co-production.
Hiam Abbass will start shooting her first feature, Inheritance, in Israel in July.
Abbass (who has acted in projects including Lemon Tree and The Visitor, and 2011 Cannes Competition title The Source) wrote the screenplay with Ala Hlehel, Nadine Naous and Ghazi Albuliwi, based on Hlehel’s original script.
Hafsia Herzi will star alongside Ghazi Albuliwi, Tom Payne, Hiam Abbass, Makram Khoury, Clara Khoury, Ashraf Barhoum, Khalifa Natour, Yussef Abu Warda and Ali Suliman.
The film is set in the summer 2006. Palestinian family in the north of Galilee are celebrating a wedding, when their internal conflicts mirror the war between Israel and Lebanon.
The French/Israeli/Turkish coproduction between Agat Films, Alma Films, Mozer Films, DEPO Films and IMAJ, with support from ARTE Cinema and Canal + (France), The Israeli Film Fund, Fonds Sud, for a budget of $2.5m.
Films Distribution handles world sales with Diaphana on board for French distribution.
