High Point Films has picked up world rights (excluding UK) to Splintered, which marks Simeon Halligan's directorial debut.

Rachel Richardson-Jones of Not A Number will produce, while Clive Parsons will serve as executive producer.

The British horror film is about a teenage girl held captive by a man who claims to be protecting her from a killer. Stephen Martin Walters and Holly Weston star in the project. Weston recently appeared in Madonna's Filth & Wisdom.

High Point has previously handled horror projects including George A Romero's Dawn Of The Dead and Slaughter Night.

'We're always on the look out for new talent and directors in different genres,' says High Point head Carey Fitzgerald. 'and with the outstanding experience of Clive Parsons anchoring proceedings, Splintered looks set to pack a real punch for horror fans and beyond.'

Splintered started shooting in April and will be delivered in time for Toronto in September.
