EXCLUSIVE: Hyde Park Entertainment has brought on Image Nation Abu Dhabi to split financing on Untitled Elmore Leonard Project, shooting now in Connecticut.
The thriller becomes the third collaboration between the partners following Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance with Nicolas Cage as well as the Richard Gere and Topher Grace crime drama The Double.
Hyde Park International chief Eric Christensen has reported a torrent of interest on the adaptation of Leonard’s novel The Switch.
Deals closed for Latin America (Swen), CIS (Top Film), Eastern Europe (Padora), Israel (United King), South Africa (Ster Kinekor) and Portugal (Lusomundo), among others.
As previously announced, Jennifer Aniston, Tim Robbins, Isla Fisher, John Hawkes, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) and Will Forte star.
The action centres on career criminals who kidnap the wife of an unfaithful realtor only to discover the wealthy man does not care to pay the ransom. Daniel Schechter adapted the screenplay and directs.
Hyde Park International is in Berlin with one of its strongest slates in years. The sales roster includes A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle, Sycamore Pictures’ follow-up to Sundance smash The Way, Way Back that will star Joel McHale, Lauren Graham and Robin Williams.
It also emerged last week that Dakota Fanning and Daniella Macdonald have joined Diane Lane and Elizabeth Banks on the cast of Amy Berg’s Every Secret Thing.
The thriller from Likely Story, Merced Media Partners and Palmstar Media Capital involves two teenage girls convicted years earlier for the murder of a baby who are released just as children in their town start to go missing.
