Beijing-based Huayi Brothers Media Corporation has boarded Dante Lam’s The Stool Pigeon, produced by Hong Kong’s Emperor Motion Pictures (EMP), as an equity partner.
The crime thriller reunites the team behind Lam’s critically-acclaimed 2009 sleeper hit The Beast Stalker, which also starred Nicholas Tse and Nick Cheung.
Huayi Brothers will co-produce the film and handle sales for mainland China.
“We are very excited to welcome Huayi Brothers on board Stool Pigeon. Huayi Brothers and EMP worked together well on The Message and are currently collaborating on our blockbuster Shaolin. This new collaboration is a strong testimony to the growing ties between the two companies,” said EMP CEO Albert Lee.
Stool Pigeon is currently shooting in Hong Kong and is slated for a summer 2010 release.
