LA-based sales outfit takes on action thriller starring Danny Trejo and his Heat compadre Robert De Niro.

Robert Rodriguez and co-director Ethan Maniquis are currently shooting in Austin, Texas. Rodriguez wrote the screenplay based on the fake trailer he created for his Grindhouse double bill with Quentin Tarantino several years ago.

Trejo plays the eponymous Machete, a former Mexican Federale law enforcement officer working as a day labourer in Texas who gets hired by a corrupt senator to carry out his dirty work.

Machete vows to redeem himself when he learns the politician has set him up for murder.

The cast includes Rodriguez’ muse and Planet Terror star Rose McGowan, his Sin City star Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Michelle Rodriguez and Steven Seagal.
