The film, which stars Brian Cox, Joseph Fiennes, Dominic Cooper and Damian Lewis, had previously been picked up by the beleagured THINKFilm but was freshly available when that company hit financial troubles.
It will be now released theatrically on April 3 and will be available on IFC's on-demand service from April 1.
The prison break thriller recently won a British Independent Film Award for best achievement in production and a BAFTA Scotland Award for best actor for Brian Cox.
The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco for IFC Films with Cassian Elwes of William Morris Independent and Tristan Whalley and Nicki Parfitt at Goalpost Film.
The film was produced by Parallel Films and Picture Farm and presented by UK Film Council and Bord Scannan Na Heirann/Irish Film Board.
