IFC Films has acquired North American rights from The Works International to Duncan Ward’s black comedy Boogie Woogie.
The film screens in the EFM and stars Danny Huston, Stellan Skarsgaard, Amanda Seyfried, Alan Cumming and Charlotte Rampling.
Danny Moynihan adapted the screenplay from his novel of the same name, a satire set against the backdrop of the contemporary art scene. Boogie Woogie premiered in Edinburgh last summer.
IFC has set an April 23 theatrical release date, two days after the VOD launch. Vice-president of acquisitions and co-productions Arianna Bocco brokered the deal with The Works International.
The film is an Autonomous/Colourframe Production with S Films, in association with Constance Media, Firefly Films, Muse Productions, P&C Arcade Films and Magna Films.
Cat Villiers, Chris Simon, Kami Naghdi and Moynihan produced.
