In the latest in a growing line of Cannes acquisitions, IFC Films has taken US rights to Mia Hansen-Love’s Un Certain Regard jury special prize winner Father Of My Children (La Pere De Mes Enfants).
The film will get its North American premiere at Toronto and stars Louis-Do De Lencquesaing as a film producer whose idyllic family life suffers when his company begins to fall apart.
Philippe Martin and David Thion of Les Films Pelleas and Oliver Damian from 27 Films Production produced the French drama and IFC Films plans a 2010 release through its IFC In Theaters theatrical and VOD day-and-date platform.
The company’s vice-president of acquisitions Arianna Bocco negitiated the deal with Agathe Valentin from Films Du Losange.
IFC’s previous Cannes buys include Antichrist, Fish Tank, Tales From The Golden Age, and Police, Adjective.
