Leading Spanish outfit Imagina has picked up international sales rights to respected Catalan directors Judith Colell and Jordi Cadena’s drama Elisa K, which is a world premiere in competition at San Sebastian.
The drama, which will screen at San Sebastian tomorrow, revolves around a woman named Elisa who suddenly remembers an appalling thing that happened to her as a child. It stars Aina Clotet, Hans Richter, Jordi Gracia and Claudia Pons, and is produced by leading Spanish outfit Oberon Cinematografica (the company behind The Milk Of Sorrow and The Island Inside).
Both Cadena and Colell have featured films at San Sebastian before, the former with Els Papers D’Aspern (official selection 1991) and the latter with 53 Days Of Winter (New Directors, 2006).
Elisa K will be released by Wanda Vision in Spanish theatres on Sept 24.
Imagina also handle sales for Woody Allen’s You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger and Midnight In Paris and Emilio Aragon’s film Paper Birds, which is in the Made In Spain section of this year’s festival.
