The company announced today [27] it has signed deals with Kinomax and MORI dCinema to open a total of four digital IMAX theatres inside new multiplexes.  

Kinomax will open three new IMAX theatres in Astrakhan later this year, followed by Ryazan and Tomsk in late 2012. The MORI Cinema IMAX site is set to open in 2012 in Mytischi.

The total number of IMAX theatres scheduled to operate in the region is projected to reach 45 by 2014.

Russia and the CIS are IMAX’s third biggest market behind the US and China.
