IMAX Corporation and WarnerBros have announced that Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins will be simultaneously released to IMAX andconventional 35mm cinemas on June 17, 2005.
It will be the eighth Warnerfilm to undergo IMAX's DMR digitalremastering process. Warner will be the exclusive distributor of the film toIMAX cinemas worldwide.
"Moviegoers love toexperience our event movies in IMAX theatres and filmmakers rave about howtheir work appears on the IMAX canvas," said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. presidentof domestic distribution in a statement. "We're excited to make our eighth film commitment to IMAX with BatmanBegins: The IMAX Experience."
"Batman Begins will be a perfect way to kick off the blockbustersummer film season," added Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president of filmedentertainment.
The film stars ChristianBale in the lead along with Michael Caine as his equally iconic butler Alfredand Gary Oldman as Lt. Gordon. Also starring are Liam Neeson, Katie Holmes, TomWilkinson and Rutger Hauer.
