The Indomina Group has acquired US distribution rights to Leos Carax’s French drama Holy Motors, which had its premiere in the Cannes competition line up last week.
Written and directed by Leos Carax and starring Michel Piccoli, Denis Lavant, Eva Mendes and Kylie Minogue, Holy Motors chronicles a few hours in the life of Monsieur Oscar, a shadowy character who journeys from one life to the next.
Indomina vice chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann said: “Leos Carax is a masterful filmmaker. His unique, singular vision is something that cannot be overlooked in today’s marketplace. The film really stays with you after you’ve left the cinema - a testament to not only a brilliant story but amazing direction and performances. We’re thrilled to have this film on our release slate.”
Rob Williams, Indomina’s vice president of acquisitions, negotiated the deal with Carole Baraton of Wild Bunch, which is handling international sales for the film.
Holy Motors was produced by Martine Marignac through Pierre Grise Productions with Pandora as the German co-production partner.
