KING IS A PARTICIPANT

Jonathan King has left Focus Features as executive vice-president of production and has joined Participant Productions as executive vice-president in charge of production. Prior to Focus, King served as president of production for Laurence Mark Productions, working on such titles as Dreamgirls and The Lookout.

SULTAN MAKES PEACE ARCH MOVE

Julie Sultan has joined Peach Arch Entertainment Group as executive vice-president of international theatrical film sales. Sultan arrives after six years at Lakeshore Entertainment where she served as vice-president of international sales.

ALL CHANGE AT SHOWBOX

Leading Korean investor and distributor Showbox Mediaplex has created a new international business and development division to focus on co-productions and co-financing. Steve Lee, formerly of Megabox Mediaplex's Beijing office, will head the division. The company's international sales will be handled separately under international sales chief Judy Ahn. Lee's new team includes Showbox head buyer Chris H Lee, along with Young-hong Chung and Chris Chang who are in charge of handling co-production and co-financing projects.

SONY BACKS WEISSE

Sony Pictures Television International (Spti) has promoted Noemie Weisse to senior vice-president, sales, for French-language territories, Portugal and Portuguese-speaking Africa.

MELKONIAN TAKES ON SUNSET GOWER ROLE

Terri Melkonian has been appointed to the newly created position of vice-president of sales, marketing and corporate communications at Sunset Gower Studios. Melkonian joined 10 months ago as vice-president of sales and marketing and previously served as a production representative at Universal Studios for nine years.

DUO MAKE OVERTURE

Greg Forston has joined Beverly Hills-based Overture Films as senior vice-president of theatrical distribution, and Lauren Kisilevsky has arrived as vice-president of production and acquisitions. Kisilevsky arrives from Reese Witherspoon's Type A Films and Forston previously worked for Yari Film Group and Fine Line Features.
